VARSITY 2011 Scavenger Hunt Official Rules

Official Start Time: 7:00 pm on October 27, 2011

Liability Waiver: Family Worship Center (FWC) is not liable for the cost associated with any speeding tickets or infractions of the law. Although this event encourages contestants to finish tasks quickly, all contestants must follow the laws of the land. The safety of each contestant is the highest priority of FWC but it is the responsibility of each person to keep other’s safety in mind. Each driver is reminded that they must take special care and responsibility of their team members.

  • KICK-OFF
    • All teams must be present by 7:00 pm at the latest.
    • A team is officially submitted into competition once they have filled out the Scavenger Hunt Team Card and given it to a VARSITY facilitator.
    • Any teams that are late may compete, but they’ll have an obvious disadvantage.
  • SCAVENGER HUNT TEAMS
    • A team must be at least 3 people, and no more than the number of seats in that team’s car.
    • Contestants may choose their own members to form a team.  If you’re new to VARSITY, we’ll help you find teammates and get you in the game.
    • Each Team Must:
      • Have at least one licensed driver.
      • Declare a captain.
      • Give themselves an official team name.
      • Stay together in ONLY one car. In other words, a team CANNOT split up into two or more cars to expedite the competition.
      • NOT ask any VARSITY facilitators for hints.
    • Each Contestant Must:
      • Have a costume….Creativity is encouraged!
      • Wear their costume during the event at all times.
      • Submit the $5.00 entrance fee.
  • COMPLETION AND WINNER
    • The team that finishes the scavenger hunt with the most amount of points will be declared the winner.
    • The completion procedure is as follows:
    • Teams will be given a “Finish Time” once they have submitted their bag of items and pictures. For every minute after 9:00pm, a 10 point deduction will be applied.
    • Each bag of items will be collected at the time they were submitted. Judging will begin and points will be tallied.
    • All teams will be judged and the winner will be announced.
  • GRAND PRIZE
    • The Grand Prize is the sum of $5.00 Entry Fees that will be collected from each contestant.
    • The Grand Prize will be given to the winning team’s captain. It is the responsibility of the team to fairly distribute the winnings.
  • OTHER RULES
    • Contestants may NOT do any of the following:
      • Buy any items of any kind. Items must be found or given to the contestants.
      • Steal any items. Come on, “Thou shalt not steal!”
